The following is North alumnus Samhith Marni’s response to our questions about his college decision process, the student life and culture at NJIT, and more.

Marni graduated from North in 2019. He is a part of NJIT’s class of 2023.

I chose NJIT because it has a small campus, and that kind of appealed to me. I’m doing fine at NJIT; I commute so I don’t really get homesick.

My favorite part of NJIT is the people I meet there.

The hardest part is that the classes are pretty tough. At NJIT, you have to really push yourself to immerse yourself in its “culture.” You have to be willing to go to a lot of social events, etc.

NJIT being situated at Newark should not influence a student’s decision in terms of safety and such. There’s a lot of security as well as freedom; it’s a nice city.
